“The Flats” are a series of abstract paintings designed to capture the unique characteristics of the Cape's bayside beaches: the ebb and flow of tides, the patterns created in the sandbars and the sense of vastness manifested by the union of sky and sea.  I’m drawn to the flats because these qualities collectively provide a unique opportunity for one to move amongst the natural beauty that unfolds in the ever changing cloud formations and waterways which are a constant reminder of the passing of time.
